Please get in touch if you would like to get involved in a local community activity. From litter picks, supporting local businesses and town events, amateur dramatics, park gardening groups, park runs, and charity bucket collections, there are many ways to make a positive impact in your town.
In July 2020, during our first Lockdown in the UK, I created a community action campaign inviting people to help raise awareness of worthy causes in Broxbourne by getting moving!
I wanted to help keep people engaged in their community as well as stay active, which is not only good for our physical health but also beneficial to our mental and emotional well-being.
The campaign was called ‘’Broxbourne Travel the World’’ and people from anywhere in the world could send in the distance they had travelled through getting active and these distances were added together to plot a trip around the world!
Activities ranged from; walking, running, cycling, horse riding, distance covered in a litter pick, walking the dog, pushing the pram, mowing the lawn, school's Sports Day…people really got creative, it was great fun!
I enjoyed this campaign immensely and the response and uptake was incredible. Together, the Broxbourne Travel the World community covered the distance of a trip around the world within a year!
